Philadelphia bred MC Journalist started his rap career in 2000 with features on artist such as Canibus, Mr.Cheeks, Pete Rock, Freeway, Beanie Siegel, Floetry and the list continues.. Born Rafiek George artist Journalist was raised in the streets of South Philadelphia where he was influenced by artist such as Malik B and Black Thought of the Roots, Nas, Biggie, Big L, and Jay Z to start writing rhymes and taking to the streets to cypher and battle in the late 90's early 2000. With performing at several events throughout the city and periodic trips to New York for showcases Journalist was introduced to Management group J Erving Group(JEG) through  a mutual friend in Philly. This introduction led Journalist to feature on Canibus album 2000 B.C. and a host of freestyles from Clue to Kay Slay and many more respected Dj's. Journalist was signed with Motown/Universal in 2001 and released his debut album "Scribes of Life" in early 2002.. The project had sub par promotion due to circumstances but never stopped Journalist from recording a series of mixtapes titled Offseason and Preseason hosted by Phillies own Dj Jay Ski. The most recent mixtape to be added to the resume is "While Supplies Last" released and stamped through Dj Supa of Violator Dj's in 2011. These projects  can be found on ITunes and several hip hop sites as well. Journalist will be releasing his next project "the Fast Nowhere" set to drop this summer under independent company HardRout.. "This project will be epic, a great sonic experience for listeners.
